Salina is an award-winning writer and designer.

After growing up in the Ottawa Valley, she left her small town for design school in Toronto. She continued to spend fifteen years in Toronto as a creative professional.

Her design and art direction career in Toronto spanned brand, editorial, marketing and digital – both in-house and through an agency she helped birth from the ground up. She has worked with iconic brands such as Holt Renfrew, Lindt & Sprüngli, LCBO, Chapters Indigo, Four Seasons, Azure Magazine, The Detox Market, CloudMD, RBCx, and Bravado.

Drawn to a slower pace and her first love – nature, Salina recently returned to the Ottawa Valley. The slowness opened her up to more art forms and returned her to some old ones. She creates to soothe her nervous system, and hopes to give that gift to others with her art.

As a writer (and reader), Salina is drawn to the conflicting emotions that make us human. She works in creative nonfiction, primarily writing brave and raw personal essays. Her writing explores the interiority of being a human and the softness it requires. She both tells the stories of her complex inner world and explores complex ideals.
